Freed-Hardeman
University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track
position in Theatre with an emphasis in Design/Technology.
Rank is dependent on experience. Successful candidate will be
responsible for building an undergraduate theatre design/technology
program and overseeing the technical aspects of theatrical production.
Responsibilities include teaching up to 12 hours per semester,
overseeing the design and construction of one production per semester,
managing Loyd Auditorium and theatre shops, supervising student
workers, and participating in regular faculty tasks associated with
the department of fine arts, college of arts and humanities.
Terminal degree in
theatre design is required (MFA preferred). Candidates with the
following skills will be given special consideration: CAD, scenic
painting, welding, prop making. The successful candidate will be able
to work collegially with other faculty. Teaching opportunities in
theatre history and children’s theatre are available to interested and
qualified candidates. The candidate will also develop appropriate
design courses for the theatre design/production program.
