Huntington University
Department of Theatre seeks applicants for a tenure-track
Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre Design, beginning August 2008.
Primary responsibilities include courses in two of the three design
areas (Scenic, Costume & Lighting Design), function as Designer and
either Technical Director or Costume Shop Supervisor for four show
departmental season. Other duties include advising students, supervising
student projects and serving on departmental and university committees.
The position requires the ability to design and execute designs.
Continued professional activity expected. The candidate should
demonstrate commitment to teaching and be able to show evidence of
teaching effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT

Christian commitment with evangelical persuasion
- PhD or
MFA in Theatre, with relevant professional and educational theatre
experience desired
- Strong
creative work, especially in directing

Ability to work with other professional faculty, staff and student
volunteers

Ability to teach effectively in dynamic theatre department

Understanding of role of
theatre in a liberal arts program
